Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival at Casablanca Airport, your professional Around Egypt Tours driver will be waiting for you at Gate 2 outside the airport. From here, you will begin your journey north toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
Founded by Abd al-Mu’min, a ruler of the Almohad dynasty, Rabat was originally built as a fortress, earning its name “Ribatu l-Fath”, which means "stronghold of victory". Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have the rest of the evening to relax and prepare for the journey ahead.
After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a guided tour of Rabat, exploring its rich history and impressive landmarks. Your tour will take you to the Royal Palace, the official residence of the King of Morocco, followed by a visit to the Hassan Tower, an incomplete yet magnificent minaret of a mosque envisioned by Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour. Next, step into history at the Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO-listed fortress with striking blue-and-white alleyways and breathtaking views of the Bouregrag River.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the souks and bazaars in Rabat’s old medina, where you can browse a variety of merchandise, including handcrafted leather goods, traditional Moroccan shoes, and authentic Berber jewelry.
Before leaving Rabat, enjoy a delightful tea break at Café Maure, located on the banks of the Bouregrag River. Here, you will savor Moroccan mint tea accompanied by delicious local treats such as Kaab Ghazal (gazelle horn cookies) and Ghariba.
Afterward, bid farewell to Rabat and set off on a scenic drive to Chefchaouen, Morocco’s Blue Pearl, where you will check in to your riad.
Wake up to the charm of Chefchaouen, a picturesque town known for its striking blue-washed buildings and relaxed atmosphere. This unique tradition of painting the town blue originates from Jewish beliefs, where the color symbolizes the sky and serves as a reminder of heaven and God.
Your guided tour begins with a visit to the Kasbah of Ali Ben Rachid, a 15th-century fortress surrounded by beautiful Andalusian gardens. Next, stroll through Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the town’s central square filled with cafés and restaurants, before delving into the charming alleys of the medina.
Spend the afternoon exploring local artisan workshops, where you can find handwoven woolen rugs, traditional pottery, and intricate leather goods. If time permits, consider taking a short hike to the Spanish Mosque, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the Blue City.
After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen and journey toward Fez, stopping at two historic sites along the way.
Your first stop is Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco’s most significant Roman ruins. With the guidance of a local expert, explore the well-preserved Triumphal Arch, Capitoline Temple, and Orpheus mosaics, which offer fascinating insights into Roman life.
Next, visit Meknes, an imperial city founded by Sultan Moulay Ismail and known for its grand architecture. Here, you will explore Bab Mansour, one of Morocco’s most beautiful gates, and visit El Hedim Square, a lively marketplace at the heart of the medina.
Afterward, continue your journey to Fez, where you will check in to your riad.
Fez, the spiritual and intellectual capital of Morocco, is home to the world’s oldest university and a medina that dates back to the 9th century.
Your guided tour will take you through Fez el-Bali, the city’s historic medina, where you will explore Bou Inania Madrasa, Attarine Madrasa, Seffarine Square, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the iconic Chouara Tannery. Wander through the Nejjarine Square and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), which holds a deep historical significance.
In the afternoon, participate in a pottery workshop with a local artisan, gaining hands-on experience in traditional Moroccan ceramics.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive toward Marrakech, passing through the stunning landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its European-style chalets and clean mountain air.
Continue through Beni Mellal, one of Morocco’s most important agricultural centers, before reaching Marrakech, where you will check in to your hotel.
Today, explore Marrakech, the vibrant heart of Morocco. Visit the Majorelle garden, a botanical masterpiece once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, followed by the Menara Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, and the Mellah (Jewish Quarter).
After lunch, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride (Kotchi) through the medina before arriving at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a lively hub of street performers, food vendors, and artisans.
Enjoy a free day in Marrakech to explore at your own pace. Visit a traditional hammam, shop for unique souvenirs in the souk, or take an optional hot air balloon ride over the desert.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Morocco as you take a comfortable private transfer to Casablanca Airport for your return flight.
